Last Friday, West Washington (WW) hosted their Fall Football Homecoming. Football player Hayden Morrow was crowned as King, and Alaina Schmidt was crowned as Queen.
“Homecoming is more than a game to our school - it’s a tradition that unites the school and community in pride and belonging,” WW head coach Jeremy Lowery said.
Four more students were honored with titles in the 2025 Fall Homecoming Court. Izzy Guthrie won first runner-up, and Jack Armstrong won heartthrob. Kinley Conrad and Faith Smith were crowned as princesses.
The Senators fell to North Daviess. The final score was 26-14.
“We feel like we competed well last Friday. We must continue to work on finishing drives in the red zone and coming away with points in those situations,” Lowery said.
Quarterback Gavin Hunt had 12 carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns; he also threw for 115yards on 13 for 25 passing. Holden Russell had five receptions for 53 yards. Hayden Morrow had four catches for 29 yards, while Colton Brown added two catches for 24 yards.
On defense, Wyatt Wallace had 12 tackles with three tackles for loss. Brennan Sears had 11 tackles with one tackle for loss. Morrow had ten tackles with one tackle for loss.
On October 3rd, the Senators will play away, against the Perry Central Commodores. “Perry is a hard-nosed team that has a great deal of pride and tradition. It is always a challenge to go over there and play well,” Lowery said.
