West Washington (WW) Football defeated Mitchell 33-0 in week three.
After their victory, head coach Jeremy Lowery was especially proud of defense and special teams. “The defense was able to earn a shutout, and our special teams made several big plays that had a major impact on the game,” Lowery said. Trekker Suvak contributed a huge sack on a Mitchell third down.
Iziah Dennis had 13 rushes for 108 yards and a touchdown. Charlie Armstrong added seven rushes for 46 yards and a touchdown for the Senators. Jent Tankersley was four for eight passing for 118 yards. Gavin Hunt was five for nine on passing for 96 yards, and he had a touchdown.
“We’ve had several athletes playing at a high level. Hayden Morrow was all over the field Friday, making plays in all three phases of the game. Isaiah Webb has been a key contributor on the offensive line, and Jack Armstrong earned our Special Teams Player of the Week honors,” Lowery said.
Hayden Morrow had five receptions for 105 yards, and he scored a touchdown. Colton Brown had four receptions for 109 yards. Brown also had two interceptions on defense.
On Friday, September 12th, the Senators will host Springs Valley. “Springs Valley is off to a strong 3-0 start. They play a physical brand of football and have some talented players. We’re looking forward to a competitive matchup and a great atmosphere this Friday,” Lowery said. Kickoff time is 7 p.m.
