Senator Football

The West Washington (WW) Football team recently hosted the community for their annual Senator Showcase. During the showcase the High School, Jr. High, and Elementary teams presented the skills they have been working on this summer.

Jeremy Lowery is entering his fifth year as the head coach of the WW High School football team. “I am pleased with the way the high school is competing. Our consistency needs to improve for us to take the next step,” Lowery said.

The numbers for all levels of competition have been growing. “The future is bright. We have 50 high school players, 40 JH players, and 74 elementary players. They are working hard and there is a high level of talent in those classes,” Lowery said.

The J.V. and Varsity team have been focusing on the fundamentals of the sports. “Being fundamentally sound along with great team chemistry is always a top priority for our program,”. This summer the team has spent time bonding at their team campout and summer evening practices.

The WW community never fails to come to support the school's extracurricular activities. Based on the crowd at the Senator Showcase the community is excited for the Fall Football season. “We are very thankful for the tremendous crowd that came out to support our program at the showcase. We are blessed to live in a community that is passionate about football,” Lowery said.

On August 15th the High School team will have a scrimmage against North Harrison (NH). The scrimmage will begin at 7 p.m. with NH set to host WW.
