nurse's bag

WWSC made the recent decision to go virtual until September 7th due to the escalating number of positive Covid cases, quarantined students and students that were reported as absent and ill. As we proceed we want everyone to be aware of our efforts to track and help our families when one of our students is ill.

First, our staff is still reporting to school. We are tracking illness while we are virtual. Parents can call their child's school and ask to speak to the nurse or nurse's assistant. They will help answer any questions you may have and give advice on the care of your child. Nurses are available from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Additionally, we have the ability to provide a rapid response test to our students. If needed you can arrange for a test by following the above instructions for contacting the nurse or nurse's assistant. They will arrange a time for you to come to school. You will be asked to park in the upper circle and they will come out to administer the test at your vehicle. We have a limited supply of tests and tests should be used for sick students in need of a test.

Finally, we would like to share information about vaccination locations in our county. The Washington County Health Department administers the Moderna vaccine on Monday and Tuesday by appointment. The CVS in Salem administers the Pfizer vaccine, Salem Walmart administers the Moderna vaccine, and the Salem Walgreens administers both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine. Walmart and CVS do not require an appointment.
