On Friday, August 29th, the West Washington (WW) Senators faced off against Tell City. WW lost the game with a final score of 28-7.
Senator head coach Jeremy Lowery sees areas where his team can improve. “We can improve by simply cleaning things up in all three phases of the game. To be successful, we have to excel at the fundamentals and techniques we practice every day,” Lowery said.
As the team prepares for week three, they are facing some injuries. “Unfortunately, we’re a little banged up right now and are waiting to find out the availability of a couple of our starters this week. There may be opportunities for some younger players to step up and show what they can do on Friday nights,” Lowery said.
WW will take on the Mitchell Bluejackets on Friday, September 5th. “Mitchell is 0–2, but they’re much better than their record indicates. They play aggressively on defense and have playmakers on offense who can make things happen,” Lowery said.
Mitchell will host the Senators. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Every week, the WW football team works hard to improve its skills. “We need to work hard at practice this week and focus on improving at every position,” Lowery said.
