Eva Martin Selected to Compete at State Poetry Reading Contest

Senior Eva Martin will be competing this weekend in the annual Poetry Out Loud competition in Indianapolis. Poetry Out Loud is a national competition which encourages high school students to learn a classic poem and then recite it. Eva was chosen as West Washington's winner in her Speech class and now will represent our school at the Indiana State Library on Saturday. She will be reciting three poems -- "Broken Promises," "Silence," and "Ode" -- and will be competing against students from around the state. The winner at the state level will receive a free trip to Washington, DC, to compete in the national competition. Good luck, Eva!

We are proud of you!
